About me
Brazilian knifemaker.
Married and father of a girl and a boy.
Self taught living in Sao Paulo.
Knives have always been present in my life. Being son of an amateur cook-hunter-fisherman, the sound of blades on the sharpening stone followed me through childhood.
At young age I developed a taste for the cooking. Then I learned why to keep the knives sharp.
So I kept them sharp.
And I liked that.
Liked to sharpen and to have them sharp.
Back in 2,013 I negligently broke a quality knife
I could not simply throw it away.
So I decided to rebuild it by making a smaller knife.
- But that was not that simple -
In order to turn a piece of tempered steel into a new knife I had to learn about metal hardnesses, tempering cycles, annealing, critic temperatures, quenching, martensite, austenite, and so on. Not to mention proper woods, bonding agents, liners, mosaic pins, sanding techiniques, geometry ...
It worked.
I liked the result.
So I decided to make a small knife. From scratch.
So I did.
I liked the result.
Never stopped...
